Sugar High: Peter Ross and Justin Jay Shoot for Sobe's Summer Fridays

What an event! Peter Ross and Justin Jay were asked to create wonderful portraits as a celebration of Sobe and simultaneously ROCK OUT. That's right, kids, our photographers pulled off the nearly impossible proverbial task of chewing their bubble gum, AND walk down the street (WITH a swagger, we might add).
Sobe's Summer Fridays , organized by Epiphany Media was quite the to-do of the summer. There was music, dancing, artwork, and of course, Sobe refreshments for the taking.
The event was held at Stephan Weiss Studio in the west village. Thanks to a great team of hair and makeup, and with an amazing Seed Reps photo crew behind them, the beautiful people were made even more so.
With the help of Shootdigital's sd: i department, giant prints of the photographers work was also on hand making appearances in the forms of Chloe Sevigney, Outkast and Tommy Lee (among others).

Peter Ross's work on display at the event.

Justin Jay takes a moment to take in the view from the model's perspective.

Right before the start of the event--notice the mood lighting?

Peter Ross prepping the next victim...I mean SUBJECT!

Seed Reps Strikes Gold! As in Award. (But actual gold still may "be there in them there hills").

GOLD! As in the Graphis Gold Award. All in honor of our awesome identity and letterhead. Glad we got Ceft and Company on board to put all that together. Haven't seen out letterhead? Well just book a shoot with us and we'll be sure to send one of those along!

Oh my goodness, they just shouldn't have (but we're so glad they did and we are definitely taking the award).

Proof in the Pictures: The latest From Peter Ross

Pardon us if we sound proud when we say our photographer, Peter Ross, was certainly not hibernating during these long winter months.

But don't just take our word for it--We have proof. Start with exhibit A, above.
(Individual specimens below.)

CASTING CALL! Is there a Ray Lewis out there?

Hello Lovelies. Hoping you or someone you know fit the following description. Should be a heck of a fun shoot with the possibility for more work if it gets picked up!

SHOOT DATE: Either Wed or Thurs, April 22nd, or 23rd

STATS: Looking for Black, Male Athlete or Model. Very Muscular build, preferably with a thick neck. Ages 21-40. Should have a linebacker build, but do not have to be tall.

Contact: Send pics to Tracey Carl (producer) at tracey@seedreps.com. EMAILS ONLY! NO PHONE CALLS!

Project Details: Our lifestyle photographer, is putting together a shoot for a home fragrance product. We will be taking a shot from the neck up of a black male athlete and cropping in so we need someone that has a muscular neck and can look intimidating. Think Ray Lewis.

The fee for the day would be $500 flat for a buyout. Breakfast and lunch would be provided and the shoot would be from about 9am-6pm.

Please send pictures showing full body and a straight-on shot of face to tracey@seedreps.com.

This shoot is being produced by Seed Reps (www.seedreps.com).

Did you say "B. O.?" NO, silly! BIOS!

And they are definitely fresh. Just wanted to help you all in getting to know our artists. We think they are pretty darn cool. Don't believe us? Be sure to check them out yourselves starting with their short bios. They are listed under each artists' name as a separate section on our website.

Want more? You'll just have to catch us around town or hire us on a job. Tomorrow we will be at Sin Sin Lounge for the Adhesive event starting around 6:30pm. Come find us! We are well versed in most dance steps and topics in current events so we are sure to make for some excellent company (but we never, never talk about the weather).

OMG! We have a WINNER for the Jelly Bean Contest!!!

Well, the wait is finally over and our heads hurt from all the math (ok and probably all the jelly beans we have managed to consume in an alarmingly short amount of time). The total jelly beans in the jar is 1,940.

Below is the name of the winner and the 5 closest guesses. We followed "The Price is Right" model where whoever guessed closest without going over won (although even the other way Amanda pretty much had it in the bag).

WINNER: Amanda Haan (68 under)

TOP 5 CLOSEST GUESSES:
1. Ellen Hutchings (212 under)
2. Chris Tomczak (257 under)
3. Jason Passant (312 under)
4. Sara Foldenauer (378 under)
5. Pam Lor (440 under)

Thanks to all for playing. We will definitely be holding another contest in the next couple of months so if you didn't win this one, there will be another chance for glory soon.

In the meantime, I would make friends with Amanda. She is the proud recipient of a gift-card to the holiest of holy grocery stores in NYC--WHOLEFOODS. If you are lucky, maybe she will share some snacks :)

Aron Norman Takes His Camera "Down Under"

Although we missed him while he was away, Aron had a great trip to Australia. If you see him around, be sure to ask him--I'm sure he has way too many stories to fit in this entry. But, as they say a picture is worth a thousand words (so 5 x 1000--well you do the math). Take a peek below!

Marcqui Akin's Newest Spring Shoot

Really, what do the Ancient Greek sculptors have on this? We, of course, have the utmost respect for those old guys but we are pretty sure that if they were alive today they would have to give us some snaps for Marcqui Akins' latest shoot.

Making fitness gear and working out look way better then it ever does at the actual gym, Marcqui's shoot reminds us that sweating can definitely be good for you.

Want more? Visit the rest of Marcqui's work here.

Everything Is Better With Bacon

And our producer, Daniel Weiner. Strangely, none of our fashion shooters felt this way and so this accessory will not be making it into any of their shoots (at least not anytime soon).

Be sure to keep watching our blog, regardless of the breakfast side dishes. We have a couple shoots in production that are sure to be more vegetarian friendly.

Leave us a note and lett us know how your Friday is treating you!

March Madness with Our Friends. From Seed Reps Production to You!

Not sure what you are up to this month but here's an idea. Have a photo shoot that is big on dreams but short on cash? No worries! Our friends at Shootdigital are reducing their rates to $500 for the month of March.

We thought it might be a reaction from the margaritas Hector makes over there. But they are actually doing it to help clients who may be experiencing a pinch to their budgets. Don't worry--the recession has not affected Margarita Fridays (but we hear that day of the week is filling up the quickest...)

Anyway, figured we'd spread the word--hope it helps you out for your next shoot!

We See London, We See France. Peter Rosa Shows Us Some (Pretty) Underpants.

No offense meant to Peter of course, but we are happy that the underpants--more accurately, lingerie of course-- are being modeled by professionals. Taking a peek below I'm sure you can see why by this fantastic fashion story on location.

It may still officially be winter outside but these ladies remind us how to save on your gas and electric bill (by turning up the heat in other ways).

The Fine Art of Capturing a Poet and the Epic Feat of Peter Ross

Artists, like art, are a tricky lot to pin down. The best kind always hang a little crooked on the wall as if rebelling against being put on display and being asked to sit quietly in the space designated for them.
Like John Giorno, they are not content with a label of "poet," "painter," or even the less common trade of "candlestick maker." Thankfully, armed with a lens, Peter Ross was able to draw us a picture of the artist, Giorno in-between his poetry, painting, and performances.
And, as you can see from the portrait, he is hung--just as we expected--a bit crooked in his frame.

Aron Norman's Urban Warrior Shoot

Something lurks in the parks and green spaces in New York City.... and that something is extremely, extremely fashionable. Shot entirely at night in Central Park, Aron Norman and his crew risked life and limb battling the brush and nocturnal predators to bring you the following story. Urban Warriors, indeed.
